Meet Your New Favorite Vampires.

If you're anything like me, you enjoy reading a good vampire novel like Dracula by Bram Stoker or watching vampire inspired movies like the Underworld film series. Yes, I am aware that they are two very different types of vampire stories, but they deal with vampires nonetheless. We even see these mysterious blood suckers be used as inspiration in music. Either used in fashion or sound, there are more than a couple of songs I've added to my collection over the years that speak about vampires or remind me of them.

This new track by Crash Cathedral titled "Fangs" has just been added to my collection of vampy songs, and we have an exclusive first listen here on IndieWavves. The music will be available everywhere tomorrow, its release day. A great way to obtain the track a day before and help support the band is by purchasing it for a dollar on Bandcamp. You can also gift it to someone if music is your love language. Just click below!

The band's dark pop genre started by fusing sounds from their combined background in electronic, industrial, and new wave/goth music. "Fangs" showcases their new vocalist GLMR (Nick Gilmer) at his finest - with a nuanced performance that lands somewhere between The Weeknd, Post Malone, and The 1975. Swirling guitars and a haunting electronic soundscape brings the song into a decidedly more sinister territory than you might expect, with lyrics like "I'm drawn into your shadows, the malice in your eyes, when the night fades to black, you're out of your disguise."

"Fangs" was written to feel brooding and a little 'sexy', incorporating mainstream alt-pop elements while also blending in darkwave and industrial influences. The lyrics and visuals speak for themselves - this song is about vampires whether you take that literally or as a way to define someone who feeds on others' energy and emotion is up to you." - Crash Cathedral.

The track is most certainly brooding and sexy, exactly what vampires tend to exude on the outside. And are we hypnotized by Crash Cathedrals' presentation of their music in combination with the visuals they provide? Oh definitely! The only thing this vampire of a song is feeding on is my time because I cannot stop listening to it. Three minutes just isn't enough! Hmm, maybe these dudes really are vampires disguised as a band... we guess that's up for interpretation as well.
