Q&A with Viktor Longo
New York artist Viktor Longo has dropped a new music video for his track titled "When We Ride," right in time for Halloween!
Longo's blend of cool street pop and dark folk-rock make catchy and hypnotizing songs. "When We Ride" is a perfect example of that, and it's one of the reasons why we've had it on repeat.
The artist answered a few of our questions below. He's very to the point and prefers for his music to describe best who he is. Expect more music from him soon, and make sure to watch his new music video!
IndieWavves: You have been releasing a fair amount of singles and EP's this year. Any plans for an album in the future?
Viktor Longo: Yes. Soon the album will come, it will be nice, and it will be an album- Christmas maybe?
IW: Your most recent EP, 'When We Ride,' contains three tracks that seem to center Halloween's theme. Was that on purpose?
VL: Yes. It is Halloween music and much spooky. Nightmare Before Christmas. Vampires are cool.
IW: The music video for the title track, "When We Ride," was just released. Can you talk to us about what inspired it and how it came to be?
VL: My friend Paul Gallagher films rap videos, and since we always stick togetha, I knew I had to reach out to him for this kind of video. I called my favorite vampire friends, and he turned it around in 24 hours.
IW: You are the quintessential New York artist. How do you think being raised in New York shaped who you are as an artist today?
VL: It made me romantic and tough and quick on my feet.
IW: We saw you perform live right before quarantine started, and it was great. You seem to fall into your own world when you're on stage. Have you always felt this comfortable to let loose and perform your music in front of others?
VL: Yes, I have always been comfortable. Not really think about it when I'm on stage. Nervous before but not when showtime, thank god.
