Five Fun Facts with NYIKO

It's Sunday night (at least it is if you're reading the day this post went live), and there isn't much to do but cozy up on the couch and put on a film to watch. Maybe a cute romantic flick that will make you long for a fairytale romance- you know, a love like they have in the movies.

Speaking of which, singer-songwriter Nyiko has recently released a song titled just that! "Like The Movies" is what Nyiko describes as "a sonic coming-of-age film." "It's a song about growing up and believing everything we're fed about love in teenage romance films and tv shows, only to realize that in reality, love is much deeper, much more complex, and ultimately more rewarding" shared Nyiko.

Upon listening, dramatic vocals soar above twinkly synth, and you can't help but imagine young lovers dancing in the streets or playing in the ocean very much like in "The Notebook." If you're a romantic and daydreamer like myself, you will relate to this track. It may seem a bit out of touch with reality, but there isn't anything wrong with wanting a love like the movies!
