Long Island native Theresa has released her latest single, "Evolution of a Lady", and we are honored to premiere it today! This new song falls under the song popstress' brand as it is yet another catchy and women empowering tune. And as a woman myself, I have to agree with Theresa that it is fun to be a lady!
Theresa is no stranger to this site, as we have featured her before, and this has helped us become bigger fans of her with every new song she's released. It's all genuinely due to how personal and vulnerable she is with the music she makes and the message around it. "I want to inspire people to follow their dreams – no matter how big. If we believe in ourselves and embrace all that life has to offer, we can do anything we put our minds to; our dreams do NOT expire!", shared Theresa.

Advertising music executive by day and performer by night, Theresa is an undeniable new force on the modern pop scene. At 41 years old, she is on an "Evolution of a Lady" - following her dreams of sharing her story with the world - one song at a time. I am always inspired by her music and what she conveys, but I have to admit, "Evolution of a Lady" hits differently. With my birthday just around the corner, it's the perfect track to empower just about anyone to step confidently into the new year of their life.
With yet another year around the sun, many, including myself, might find some roadblocks as we evaluate where we are in life and how far we've come. Maybe even realizing that specific changes need to be made to move forward and evolve into something and someone better. Theresa had previously shared how she found herself in a confusing time shortly after her father's passing, saying, "It was a very confusing time for me. I was very insecure. I had all these dreams, but they seemed so far out of reach."
So how did she find her path, and what steps did she take to make changes in her life that have made her the woman she is today? "I've honestly had to follow my own advice! When I started my musical and personal evolution a few years ago, I have to admit; I was a little lost. I knew I wanted to start writing, recording, and performing music again, but at such a late age (I was 39), I would get into my own head, and the doubt and fears would take over. I learned to calm my mind down with the power of meditation, started to find the peace within, and really developed a sense of confidence that propelled me to follow my dreams. I am NOT perfect. Sometimes I get messy - and I like to get messy. I really love "living life" and experiencing ALL the ups and downs", said Theresa.

The singer has a true talent for being unapologetically herself and sharing her journey with anyone while inspiring them along the way no matter what age they are, as I came to find out. I asked Theresa what message she’d like young women to take from this new single? (especially those who resist change) and she had this to say: "I actually hope this new single inspires women of ALL ages to embrace their own evolutions. We are naturally evolving every day, whether we feel it or not, whether we accept it or not. We need to listen to our hearts and follow our dreams. For so long, women at large were expected to behave/look/think a certain way, and even though we've come so far, we still tend to judge ourselves and hold ourselves back from our highest potential. We can not live in our pasts but need to appreciate them to move forward. We can not compare ourselves to other women (or people in general!). We need to find peace within ourselves to truly become the person we are supposed to be."
As some of the lyrics read, "I'm one tough chick, don't you wanna be like me?" I have to say, yes, yes; I would love to be like you! Fearless, talented, and a boss babe! It seems like nothing can hold this lady back, and we are not mad at it. "My evolution will not stop after the release of this single. I will continue to give myself the love and care I deserve each and every day", Theresa shared. We cannot wait to catch her at her next stage of evolution. We are sure things for her will only keep getting better.
