Five Fun Facts with Theresa
It's Friday, and we know you need a break from reality. What better way to escape from our daily routines than through music!? Well, we've got you covered with a new track by up and coming pop songstress, Theresa. Her latest single, "Marathon," dropped today, and it's guaranteed to get your ass dancing on your living room floor (as nightclubs haven't reopened here in the U.S.)
The Long Island native first landed on our radar with the third single she released this year titled "Kiss Kiss." Seriously, give that track a listen as well, and good luck trying to get it out of your head- it's catchy as can be! Catchy and danceable go hand in hand when talking about pop music, and Theresa seems to have gotten the perfect recipe when crafting her music and lyrics. No surprise as she dreamt of pop stardom as a young girl. Fast forward to today, and she's not only a singer and songwriter but also a producer and advertising music executive by day. Damn, talk about a boss babe!
She even produced and co-wrote "Marathon" with Mike Cash, who is a frequent collaborator of hers. Along with Jesse Blum (MisterWives) and Dave Giordano.
Theresa shared that "Marathon" is an anthem about hanging in there - knowing that her time WILL COME and when it does come, she will do everything in her power to savor and enjoy each moment of it. Mainly because, as she mentions, "Sometimes we need to see the bigger picture out of the moment we are in. It's not about the destination. It's about the journey and process to get us where we need to be. Hard work and dedication does pay off - and it's essential to recognize all the little things because "life ain't a race; it's a MARATHON!"
We couldn't agree more! We can certainly get behind a confidant and positive queen that lives her life to it's fullest potential - living out her wildest dreams every day. She radiates her positive outlook on life through her 80's and 90's inspired music, and we cannot wait to see what she creates next.
In the meantime, she kindly sent us some facts to get to know her a bit better. Trust me; she's someone you'll want to keep an eye on.
The first album I ever owned was "Branigan" by Laura Branigan - which featured the hit, "Gloria." I still remember when my Dad gave me the album. One of my most cherished memories (and "Gloria" is still one of my favorite songs)!
I met my favorite band, Duran Duran, twice!
My first job was at Auntie Anne's in the Smith Haven Mall out on Long Island. I worked there throughout high school and even became a certified pretzel roller!
I have a cat named Sprinkles. As I fill out these fun facts, she is half napping/half grooming herself yet 100% vying for my attention!
My favorite time to write music is in the morning, and my best ideas come to me in the shower!
