SONG PREMIERE: "Undertow" by Saintz
As with every premiere we have here on IndieWavves, we try and bring you the best new music as early as possible. The song we are excited to premiere today is no different as it's by a promising duo hailing from the UK.
Manchester-based dance-pop duo Saintz is composed of Danny Stephenson and Destiny Owen. They have been working together quietly, making music during the past couple of years through the pandemic, and it seems to be paying off; they’ve recently signed to Light Label.
Saintz were initially introduced to fans in 2020 by being featured on label mates LZ7's high energy hit single "Getting Wild". Since then, Saintz have been creating a lot of buzz with singles "You'll Always Find A Way" and "Beautiful World", and now with the release of "Undertow", they are ready to follow up the success they have been amassing.
The song will be available for streaming everywhere on Friday, 2/25, but for now, you can listen to it via the Soundcloud link.
From the beginning, this track instantly sets itself apart from the duo's previous two releases. As they shared, "Undertow" has a dark vibe to it while it contains a meaningful message of hope even when you have "gravity crashing down" on you. Now Saintz is ready to release more new music to utilize their lyrics and platform to bring positive messages to a world that often is anything but that.
They are eager to dive into some of the major issues people face these days, including racism, online presence, resilience, and hope for a brighter future. Needless to say, we will be watching them and can't wait to hear more music from them as they expand their catalog. Until then, we will have "Undertow" on repeat and lookout for a possible remix of the track.
