MUSIC VIDEO PREMIERE: "Lovers Always Lose" by Boys Go To Jupiter

“Love is lonely.”

If you believe that love is lonely and you'd rather just be lonely, this is for you. Even if you don't and you appreciate beautifully composed musical projects, this is also for you. We are excited and honored to bring you the music video premiere of "Lovers Always Lose" by Brooklyn-based band Boys Go To Jupiter. "Lovers Always Lose" is the fourth single from Boys Go To Jupiter's debut record, but this is their first official music video, and we are confident it isn't their last because of the stunning job they have done.

The single's production was a collaborative effort. It is a captivating blend of strings and powerful vocals, engineered by the band's Luke Volkert in Brooklyn and Ari Judah in LA and produced by Caleb Martin Rosenthal and Jess Kantorowitz with Luke Volkert at the helm. Additionally, William Caleb Parker meticulously mixed the lush string section with the standard band arrangement and vocals, assembling an immersive musical experience that leaves you wondering how this song isn't part of a musical on Broadway.

The band never fails to demonstrate their grand and extravagant style by bringing their campy and flashy aesthetic to the forefront in this mesmerizing video, which perfectly complements their recent single. The video, directed by Stooges, is a dreamy, theatrical masterpiece featuring frontwoman Jess Kantorowitz, a poignant prom singer from a past era, grappling with heartbreak as she sings the emotional lyrics. Every shot in this video adds a touch of nostalgia to the visual storytelling and helps bring the track to life.

With the Lovers video, we were really inspired by the drama of the track– and Jess as a performer– to try something that was an obvious level-up. We love exploring different genres and styles in our music, and we try to have each BGTJ single live within its own cinematic world. “Lovers Always Lose” is the very first ballad we put out, and it was important to us that the video felt like a movie. It was a labor of love to create– we re-designed a school gym on Long Island, told our friends to steal their parents’ prom dresses and ruffled dress shirts, and somehow convinced them to come slow dance with each other at eight in the morning. 10/10 would do it again.

This release marks the core of the band's unique approach to unveiling their 10-track project. Each song debuts as a single before coming together to form the complete album; the band's release cadence has kept fans eagerly anticipating each new release. Overall, Boys Go To Jupiter stands out because they extensively use their world of influences and genres to their advantage. That has helped them formulate their captivating sound grounded in solid storytelling and powerful performances. I can't wait to see what else they have in store for us this year, but most importantly, for everyone to experience this visual and auditory treat.
