Marli Delaney, aka Marliii, is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, DIY producer, and DJ living in New York. And today, we are excited to premiere her debut EP titled 'awake & i'! The project might have taken her about three years to complete, but it's with good reason as she is fully involved in every aspect of her music. You see, she is one of those artists that no matter where life may take her, she always seems to find her way back to music.

Her journey into the music industry began when she was scouted into a Pop-Punk Group called The Age. Being part of that band allowed the young artist to write and record music all over NYC, tour the Northeast and perform live at concerts and music festivals, and even showcase for Atlantic Records and Hollywood Records. Later, when she and her bandmates decided to go their separate ways, Marliii somehow immersed herself more and more into music.

That lead her to attend Hofstra University for a Dual Bachelor's Degree in Music and Public Relations. Naturally, she was very involved in the campus while also interning at recording studios and corporate media companies. Talk about a well-rounded artist who has experience in various aspects of the music business!

'awake & i' showcases Marliii's effortless ability to incorporate different phases of who she is from a personal level to an artistic level. She likes to refer to her five-track EP as her "5 extraterrestrial tracks", but aside from the dreamy and ethereal tunes she creates, her lyrics remain quite earth-bound and very relatable. Take, for example, the song "Immortality" with its trap-like sounds and dancey vibes that take you to an airy atmosphere. In slight contrast, "Spill the Tea" has magical sounds sprinkled in as Marliii's sweet voice shows a more vulnerable side with lyrics like, "do you see her, do you believe her? She balances the earth and brightens up the universe, but she don't know her worth." And as far as a personal favorite goes, that would have to be “We’ll Shine”.

There truly isn't one track in this EP that is out of place as they each take you through Marliii's colorful and alien-like world. 'awake & i' may have you listening while you're awake, but if you close your eyes and let yourself be transported by Marliii's gentle voice, you'll find yourself elsewhere. Where is that elsewhere? Well, that is entirely up to you. May you dare to dream big and find yourself in the process. It sure looks like Marliii did.
