Sir Sly

Grab your snacks and ping-pong over to their latest music video.

In 2021, Sir Sly will release their third studio album, and if listeners have been impressed by "Material Boy" and the recent single "Little Deaths", there is much more great stuff coming. The band recently released an accompanying music video for the dreamy folk-pop song "Little Deaths". In the video, keyboardist Jason, drummer Hayden and lead singer Landon adorned in their best goth looks, and jester make-up take a jab to overcome anxiety and little addictions, like smoking. Here's our Five Fun Facts with Sir Sly's Landon Jacobs while we await more gems from their upcoming album.

  1. I grew a beard. That's not really surprising. I think I knew I could grow a beard. I loved being clean-shaven. I think I might be a beard guy now, like Father John Misty or something. Father John Misty without mushrooms. And not in a full suit at a festival, that seems really warm.

  2. I never watched YouTube, and I've watched dozens of hours - probably 100-200 hours of professional disc golf tournaments on YouTube. That's a lot of hours of Jomez - shout out Jomez for amazing coverage on YouTube.

  3. Jason is really good at ping-pong. He probably wouldn't say that, but I could say that. He's actually weirdly good at a lot of things. He's really coordinated, he was a really good hockey player growing up, and I think he was good at volleyball too. He can do some pretty cool yo-yo tricks.

  4. I think everyone knows this about Hayden, but he's really into hiking. He always brings a snack. He always has a snack at the top of the hill or at the destination. He doesn't intend on sharing the snack, but he does a lot of solo hiking. He posts a lot of hiking on Instagram, and he'll post a sandwich with a bite in it. He likes gummy bears a lot too.

  5. We got to meet and hang out with Manchester Orchestra for a couple of shows in a row, and they were my favorite band in my teenage years. I got to hang out with Andy and those guys, and we have stayed in touch with them a little bit. They are really funny and sociable and easy to get along with. I'm really bad at keeping in touch with anybody. Even if one of my childhood heroes gives me their number, I am terrible at keeping in touch with people.
