“Music As A Tool To Speak Out.”
The 20-year-old producer and songwriter Silent Child is one of today's quickly rising acts. His most ambitious track to date, "Fuck You", holds 11 million streams on Spotify and counting. Could many people resonate with a titled song that is meant as an insult towards someone who has done you wrong or that the music itself is just that good? Well, in this case, it's a mix of both.
Silent Child explained the meaning behind the song: "This song, unlike my last ones, is more hateful. There really aren't more than two people that I hate on this planet, and one of them ruined my life and my family. So I basically made this song on behalf of all of us. This song is about that one person in your life that has brought you nothing but misery and anger. That one person that has done absolutely nothing for this world and the world would be better off without them at all." It's difficult not to relate as I'm sure we all have at least one person we can say we "hate" or "strongly dislike". You see, this level of relatability through his music is something Silent Child does on purpose as he uses his music as a tool to speak out to himself and his listeners. The musician wants to inspire anyone who comes across his music in one way or another.

His Spotify bio reveals that he has Aspergers and that growing up, he was that awkward kid you'd find annoying and ugly and that to this day, he isn't anyone special and that he hopes you just enjoy his music. We have to disagree as we firmly believe that he is unique and that what he has achieved through his music is impressive. He is steadily crafting his own genre – instantly recognizable as Silent Child, while simultaneously keeping it fresh and original through his exploration into other sounds and styles. As he shared below, he doesn't favor any one genre of music as he takes inspiration from as many genres as possible, as this helps him push boundaries with his music. "This is me trying my best to cultivate a new genre, which is probably why this one one of my most ambitious tracks; even going as far to try a whole new vocal style for the second half to solidify the whole Rock element of the track", he shares.

When I was a kid, I used to sing a lot in school and at home. I failed my sophomore and junior year of high school to learn how to produce and almost didn’t graduate on time.
For my first four songs under Silent Child, I recorded vocals on my iPhone 6s.
I listen to just about every genre of music to draw inspiration from as many sources as possible.
When I’m not working on music, I’m most likely playing Xbox. I’m also a big DC Comics fan, and The Flash is my favorite superhero.
I started as a melodic dubstep producer. My main inspirations were Virtual Riot, Spag Heddy, and Fox Stevenson. I actually got into music production after I lied to my friend, telling him that I produce.
