Lyncs

Defying All Odds Since Day 1.

Singer/songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Jacqueline Hynes, aka Lyncs, has quickly become a favorite. Her indie-rock vocals and unique blend of dreamy choruses make an excellent combination. Her songwriting amplifies her strengths in sharing life experiences by making them into relatable and catchy tunes that will stick in your head for days.

The singer has been sharing her story in hopes of finding what connects us all since 2018 when she first released her EP 'The Safety'. That lead her to tour nearby her hometown of Lancaster, PA, and then to opening for acts like Young The Giant, New Vices, and August & Alden. Lyncs hasn't stopped ever since, and her music has been featured on American Songwriter, Vents Magazine, and countless playlists, including Spotify's New Music Friday.

She is now a fellow NYC resident and has performed in many of our favorite spots around the city, like Pianos, The Bitter End, and Rockwood Music Hall. We learned that she's also played at the very well-known Carnegie Hall, where shortly after, her love for songwriting took over. And thankfully, she decided to follow that passion because otherwise, we wouldn't have her wonderful music to fangirl over. Speaking of which, she is set to release a new song every month of 2021 with help from Keith Varon (The Aces, Nightly) and Rob Ernst (LAUV, Salem Ilese, Shallou).

Her new album 'Prom Queen' is due for release on April 23rd, but until then, get to know her a bit better through our Five Fun Facts with Lyncs:

  1. I’ve heard people say that I’m a miracle human. I was born at 23 weeks in and weighed 1 pound when I was born. That normally can mean a death sentence, but somehow I am completely healthy and able to do everything anyone else can do. Well, except for touch my toes but maybe one day!

  2. In a past life, I performed in symphonies as a classical bassist, and my biggest accomplishment was playing at Carnegie Hall in NYC. My passion for songwriting definitely took over, and I knew I always wanted to do what I am doing now, but I definitely would not be the musician I am today without that training. I played in an orchestra from age 7-21.

  3. My dad is from England and the moment I could walk I was playing soccer. As a nervous habit, I still hit the toe of my shoe to the ground as if I’m kicking the dirt off my “cleats”. I was also a goalie, so I have good reflexes - watch out!

  4. My current favorite TikTok obsession is @CelinaSpookyBoo who records herself while she sleepwalks! The videos are hilarious, but she is also an entrepreneur who writes books and has a makeup line. She’s so humble but yet also entertaining, and it’s just great content that the internet needed.

  5. I’m currently living in Brooklyn, NY, so I don’t have my car with me, but when I do, I love to drive stick and road trip with friends. Nothing is better than deciding on a whim to drive to a different state at 2 am and eat Sour Patch Kids.
