We have a new track for you, and we're sure you're going to have it on repeat after you give it a listen. "I Got Mine" is the latest single by Nashville based singer-songwriter Lisa Goe. Not only is this track catchy, with lyrics you'll have stuck in your head for days, but it has a relatable meaning as well. The singer had this to say about what inspired the song:
"At the time, I was dealing with mixed emotions of being over an ex. I thought I was completely over him, but then one text changed it all. I'd fallen into the quicksand, even though I knew it was deadly. Writing "I GOT MINE" is kind of a tribute to accepting, "I know this is bad for me, but I'm going to do it anyway. If anyone asks, get off my back. We all have our own vices."
Damn, right! There's something to be said for owning up to situations we place ourselves in, even if we know they aren't the best for us. Sometimes it happens without us noticing, and when we do, it might be more challenging for us to get out of. These types of life experiences are what Lisa uses as inspiration for her music. She pours her pain and life's questions into her songwriting, which, in turn, has helped her be unapologetically herself.

The West Coast native lives in Nashville since 2008 and holds an influential role in the cities pop music scene. She's hoping to show that Music City is not all country, as many still tend to believe. Goe has written songs for some of the industry's biggest names, including Justin Bieber, Jordin Sparks, Ingram Hill, Haven, Midnight Kids, and Patent Pending, to name a few. The Biebs even sang Lisa's song live while on tour, and it caused many to believe it was his love song for then-girlfriend Selena Gomez. Talk about getting the rumor mills going!
We asked the very talented singer to send us some facts about herself, and she delivered. We have a bonus fact we learned about while featuring her- one of her childhood friends is Katherine Hudson, aka Katy Perry.
Justin Bieber covered a song I co-wrote with my friend Ernie Halter performed live at multiple worldwide arenas :) That was pretty neat.
I am Japanese and Italian, otherwise known as JAPALIAN!
I wrote a 28 page paper on the Japanese Concentration Camps of America in Highschool. It was supposed to be three pages, but I didn't feel the history books had enough information on the subject.
I grew up on Jazz music, with my favorite artists being Sade, Basia, and Frank Sinatra, to name a few. I even named my dog Basia :)
I don't like ketchup.. get it away. Ketchup is sugar on tomatoes mashed up with a whole lot of I don't wanna know, haha!
