Dawson Fuss

Santa Barabara's Latest Indie-Pop Sensation.

IndieWavves is happy to introduce Dawson Fuss, a rising young star hailing from Santa Barbara, California, with a brand new music video to go alongside his single "Right Person, Wrong Time." For Dawson, music is much more than just a career aspiration, but rather a lifelong passion beginning when he was just a little kid, humming along to tunes and songs before he could even sing the words.

When Randy Jackson, of American Idol fame, heard this indie-Harry-Styles sing, he quickly recognized the potential for greatness in Dawson Fuss, saying "a star is born." But what is all the Fuss with Dawson? Well, at the risk of alienating our readers with more puns, I'll tell you. Growing up on the west coast, Dawson sought out opportunities in music wherever he could find them, whether by starring in his local theater productions or his school choirs and a-cappella groups. Dawson says that music is "so much of who I am. I think it's really a part of everybody. Everyone has their inner soundtrack of their life that makes them who they are."

Taking inspiration from other young indie artists like Rex Orange County and Conan Grey, who have recently entered the mainstream music market, Dawson hopes to continue developing his talents as a singer and performer. "I come to life whenever I can perform in front of an audience", shared Dawson.

So far, in addition to this new song, Dawson Fuss released a debut single earlier on in 2021 called "Hey You," which is also accompanied by another great music video. But, speaking of videos, check out his latest, for "Right Person, Wrong Time", which features Dawson riding around the backseat of a truck, floating beneath the surface of a swimming pool, and watching the time go by as he ruminates over a relationship gone sour. So, with all that said, here are Five Fun Facts about Dawson Fuss:

  1. For some reason, I was adamant about getting a unicycle after going to a circus for the first time when I was 8, so my parents got me one for the holidays. I learned to ride it in a couple of weeks, and then I learned how to ride a 5-foot unicycle a couple of months after that!

  2. I don't know how to say the alphabet backward, but I do know that my name backward is Noswad:/

  3. I love to go thrift shopping, and I would say that 75% of my wardrobe is from someone's grandparent's closet.

  4. I love pineapple on pizza and will not have another debate about that.

  5. I've lived five minutes away from the beach my whole life, but I still have no idea how to surf.
