Five Fun Facts with Color Fields
If you're looking for some great new Indie-Pop music, well, you've found it! Their name is Color Fields, and their brand new EP is called Pendulum. Color Fields is a duo formed by John Torres and Scott Packham; influenced by artists like Tame Impala, James Blake, Frank Ocean, and Radiohead, they released Pendulum, demonstrating that you can really have it all.
As Torres says, "Pendulum floats in and out of genres and styles, but remains cohesive." It's a combination of electro-indie rock, modern pop, EDM, and dance. Their EP is something worth listening to because it musically pulls you into so many directions but never distracts you from the message and the storyline of their record: an in-depth look into the different faces of love. "Lyrically, I'd say the EP deals with a broad spectrum of relational drama: passionate beginnings, tempestuous conflicts, longing for resolution in the aftermath of a failed relationship, joy at the discovery of lasting love … I always seem to be inspired by these things."
The title track is a song that explores the metamorphosis of a relationship during the years. For this song, they teamed up with Peter Katis (Interpol, The National). Additionally, Jerry "Wonda" Duplessis (The Fugees, Miguel, Carlos Santana) was part of the EP. On collaborating with Wonda and Katis, Packham affirms, "It was such a great experience to work with them. They approach things in very different ways, but we really felt like that complemented the spirit of our collaboration. From a technical standpoint, it's a great feeling to give someone a mix or a demo and feel like they're confidently steering it in a better direction.”
There's a song included in the EP called “Wide Enough”, and it's a track that you want to add to your playlist for this winter- the warmth of the vocals and the details in the production make it an instant classic and an all-time favorite from Color Fields.

They not only know how to create awesome Indie-Pop music, but they also know how to play it live. The duo took the stage at The Acoustic in Bridgeport, CT this October, and filmed something special for their fans. They performed some songs from the EP, and you can now watch their live performance of "Ships In The Dark" below. Joining the band are Maxx Spinelli on electric and synth bass and Isaac Monts on Drums.

John majored in Art while Scott majored in Jazz Piano performance.
Scott was on his dad's piano a couple of days after birth and began learning piano at the age of 2, and John didn't begin playing music until he was 17 when he was given a guitar for Christmas.
Scott rarely watches shows for a second time while John has seen his favorite shows Deadwood, The Wire, Game of Thrones, and Watchmen about 10-15 times each.
Scott is an avid NBA fan, despite not having much interest in other sports, while John was a high school athlete but no longer has any interest in sports.
Both bandmates bond over their love of craft beer and tacos.
