Five Fun Facts with Clinton Kane
Twenty-one-year-old singer-songwriter Clinton Kane is on the cusp of releasing his EP in the spring - a much-anticipated collection of songs ripe for a 2021 world reeling from uncertainty. It features the wonderfully-optimistic heartbreak song "Chicken Tendies" (out today), acknowledging when loving someone is letting go of them entirely. The Norwegian-Filipino multi-instrumentalist grew up in Perth, Australia, and the U.K. But, he's lived worldwide and has made his mark as a self-taught guitarist, pianist, and drummer. As a teenager, Kane was posting covers on YouTube of James Arthur and The Weeknd, amassing millions of views, and in 2019 he released the EP 'this is what it feels like' and the single "So I Don't Let Me Down". Fast-forward to 2020, Clinton had his major breakthrough collaborating on Martin Garrix's hit "Drown". With multiple songs following, including "I Don't Want To Watch The World With Someone Else", "Fix It To Break It", "Hopeless", and "Remember The Mornings", Clinton Kane is poised to be one of the artists to watch in 2021. The forever playful singer loves posting goofy images and heartfelt thoughts on social media. He's sarcastic and amusing and just trying to learn more about himself and others through his music and songwriting. At least that's what we gathered from our Five Fun Facts with Clinton Kane.
People might think I'm a psychopath, but I could wear jeans to sleep. I had only last week bought sweatpants for the first time in my life. I feel like a teddy bear, and I just want to sleep forever.
I'm a fan of this one girl Avery Lynch I found on TikTok. I think she's fucking amazing.
I just signed my first lease two months ago. I have never signed a lease because I have lived in eighty-four Airbnbs and thirteen countries in the past four years. I also have like twenty SIM cards.
In Las Vegas, after I got a couple of new tattoos, two of my Ubers canceled, and I was waiting for the new one at a diner outside, and some guy came up to me intoxicated and started saying, "what's my name?" and I was like "I don't know", but he pulled out a knife. I said, "I really don't know, and I have no problem with you." He said his name is Trevor, and that's the scariest shit that ever happened to me in my life. Fans would say if he died that night, we wouldn't have "Chicken Tendies", and we would be so sad.
I recently got into painting, and I found another hobby. The music felt like work for me, but this felt like a way to get my feelings out there. I do a lot of abstract, and I don't really think about it. I mix a lot of colors, mix it with white 'cause I like pastel, and then call my therapist, send her the picture, and talk about it.
