JAWNY at Baby's All Right

The last time we chatted with American Indie pop artist JAWNY was at the beginning of 2023 (read Q&A here), and he was gearing up for an exciting album release and his very first headline tour. Now, JAWNY is about two-thirds through this tour for his recent album 'It's Never Fair, It's Always True', performing countless sold-out shows. Artists Wallice and Seb joined JAWNY on his tour as openers, making for one spectacular concert. We had the pleasure of catching night one of his two show stops in New York City, where he performed for a packed house at Brooklyn's popular venue Baby's All Right on Wednesday, March 29th.

This performance was a special one as it was announced as a "secret show" and kept pretty lowkey, except for the fact that JAWNY's performance was anything but. Baby's All Right is an intimate venue, and much smaller than Webster Hall, where JAWNY's set to perform on Friday, March 31st, in Manhattan.

The audience was overflowing as everyone packed in as tight as possible for JAWNY's electric concert. Rocking a pair of tie-dye sunnies and his luscious bleach-blonde mane down, JAWNY brought rockstar energy as he danced around the stage with his aquamarine guitar. The vibes of his recent album are incredibly groovy and funky, making for one heck of a dance party. This is a nice contrast to the sometimes sad and reflective lyrics in some of the tracks on 'It's Never Fair, It's Always True'. The crowd went wild for songs like "adios", "death is a dj", and fan favorite "lalala". Three songs in, JAWNY even performed a cover of Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me", which had everyone eagerly waving their phone flashlights. It wouldn't be a JAWNY concert without his hit record "Honeypie", which rocked the house towards the end of his set.

In between songs, JAWNY addressed the audience and opened up about how he feels like he's finally made it, thanking everyone for their support during the past year. From touring with icons like Beck and Oliver Tree to now having his own sold-out shows in New York City, JAWNY's definitely made a name for himself, and we're excited to continue cheering him on.
